geant Integration of Inter-Domain Reservation Systems with Other Composable Services

The increasing complexity of Computer Systems and Networks in combination with the exponential growth of Internet has founded the need of more dynamic management of networks. Increasing management needs lead to more complicated and distributed service-oriented systems to deal with the transfer of information from one destination to another. Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) [1] is the computing paradigm that utilizes services as fundamental entities for developing and deploying complex inter-domain applications. For networks, service components represent modularized service-based applications that expose specific network/device interfaces with business logic into a single cohesive module. These service components can be extended and generally inherited, to facilitate the creation of more complex applications that will offer greater intelligence to the more dynamic, complex, and service-aware structure of the network.
